Patti's Musings I just got back from my bi-annual quilt market trip. For those of you who might not be aware, this is where I go to see all the new fabrics, patterns, notions, etc. all in one place. It is always fabulous! We've got new stuff to show off, so stop by and take a peek. We have new fabric coming in weekly - too much to even begin to describe here. You will just have to come in and see for yourself! P.S. When you see LInda, congratulate her! She is a Grandma for the second time! Calvin Kenneth was born early the morning of 6/2/2010 and weighed in at 7 lb, 10 oz!
Well, once again I am late, very late, with this newsletter! Where does the time go?? Sorry for the delay in getting this out - it seems that the International Festival just took everything out of me! It was GREAT! Thank-you to all who helped, or stopped by the booth to lend your support! We had a very good show, and as my husband likes to say we were "Running with the big dogs!" I'm just happy our short little legs kept pace! :0)

Kits will be available, or you can choose your own fabrics. The class will be in three sections and will focus on construction of each unit and the block so that you can complete this in your own time with confidence.

Braid Runner (Quilt as you go)
Many of you have seen this runner on our shop coffee table. One of our most popular patterns, the Braid Runner is a "quilt-as-you-go" project. Once you sew the top "braids" together and add borders, the runner is fully quilted and only needs trimming and binding. How much more simple can you get?!
Come get started on your holiday sewing by learning to make this fast, fabulous runner.

The Big Pineapple Quilt
The pineapple block is not one we would usually associate with contemporary fabric. But wait until you see this quilt! Using the book "Material Obsession", we make a giant pineapple block that is 26 inches square! Put 4 of these large blocks, some sashing, some half pineapple blocks, set it on point, add a border, and you have a king size quilt in absolutely no time at all! The best part is that there are no special rulers required, and everything is cut just a little oversized and cut down to fit, so it is much more forgiving than a traditional pineapple block! Ours is made featuring our new Girly Girl fabric line from Art Gallery Quilts and we have kits available for this king size quilt, but it can be made in any interesting fabrics you choose, including traditional ones! Join us and get started on yours!
